Common Questions

What most travellers ask before their Kashi yatra.

Is the boat ride included?

No — the Ganga boat ride is an optional add-on. A small wooden boat costs around ₹500 and a larger group boat ₹2,000. We can arrange it for sunrise or during the evening aarti. Just tick the add-on at booking or tell us on the day.

Can I attend morning aarti instead of evening?

Yes. The Mangala Aarti at Kashi Vishwanath happens around 3:00 AM and the Subh-e-Banaras (sunrise) aarti at Assi Ghat starts around 5:30 AM. Mention your preference at booking — we'll adjust the itinerary, transport and wake-up call.

How early should I reach for Vishwanath darshan?

On a regular day, reaching 30–45 minutes before opening usually means a short queue. On festivals (Mahashivratri, Shravan Mondays, Dev Diwali) you should reach 2–3 hours early or opt for the paid Sugam Darshan that our guide can arrange.

Is photography allowed inside temples?

Phones and cameras are not allowed inside the Kashi Vishwanath sanctum or the corridor's inner zone — there are free lockers at the entrance. The outer ghat areas, Sarnath and the river are completely open to photography.

What should I wear in Manikarnika?

Modest, full-cover clothing in muted colours is best. Avoid loud/colourful prints and shorts. It is a working cremation ghat, so we always observe a quiet, respectful visit — no photos of the cremations, no loud talking.

Can elderly do the boat ride safely?

Yes. We arrange wider, more stable boats with low entry steps and the driver assists boarding. Life jackets are provided. For very elderly travellers we recommend the bigger boat (₹2,000) which is more stable, or skipping the boat and watching the aarti from the ghat steps.
